Borne by the breeze
Of the most recent fad,
I mould my opinions
Lest I am thought bad.

Heaven forbid
I should think for myself,
Since the Cause overrides
Utter nonsense like health.

Big Person is watching,
Since sex doesn’t matter,
So I must avoid
Any unapproved chatter.

The few thoughts I have
May still roam my head freely
Until Thought Police
Can ensure I pay dearly.

Approval for laughter
Has now been removed
Since the myth of enjoyment
Has since been disproved.

The News: a misnomer,
Since nothing is new,
Though activist journalists
Spin lies anew.

A new form of Justice,
Dispensed by the Courts,
Has little to do with
All genuine torts.

Critical thought,
I’m afraid, is extinct,
Since reality and truth,
From discourse, are delinked.

For those in high office,
Very little has changed,
Though it’s true one or two
May be labelled deranged.
